After the ending of the “Strippenkaart” in November of this year, the printed weekly- and monthly passes will no longer be available in Groningen from January. If one would like to travel further with these tickets, the ownership of a personal “OV-chipkaart” is necessary. To load a weekly- or a monthly pass on a anonymous chipkaart is not possible. For students that stay only till January in Groningen, they can use the printed version of the monthly pass when that is valid after December 31st.
