Global Links Global Links is the student to student run office, part of the Office of External Affairs of the School of Communication and Media (SICM). The office ,in its current form, was established in February 2010 and so far there have been three interns from the School of Communication and Media, who have worked here. Global Links goal is to assist in the internationalization of the SICM by promoting going abroad among students from the CO, CS, IDM and IC study programs, providing necessary information and assisting with the application procedure. Elina Kisiele and Angelique Diarra love the internship that they are currently completing at Hanze’s cultural organisation De CAST. Both are thrilled about culture and love to organize events with and for their fellow students at Hanze University. Elina Kisiele from Liepaja in Latvia and Angelique Diarra from Fontainebleu in France know: a fish does not sense that he needs water to survive, until he does not swim in it anymore. ‘People need culture to live’, states the 20-yearold French Communication student.
