Where can I get a quick snack in Groningen?
A snack at night, in Dutch-style? Yes, that is possible! Go to Febo, located at the corner of the Grote Markt . Food from the wall is something typical Dutch and you will admire it at 5am in the morning when you will see half of Groningen standing in front of that take-away, eating frikandel, fries and burgers! Open from noon until late in the night, you will come across this place a lot.

Where can I get a good Pizza, Hamburger or Pancake?
A very special restaurant in Groningen is t' Pannekoekschip. Literally translated as “pancake ship”, this restaurant is placed on an old ship on the street Schuitendiep 1017. Obviously, the restaurant’s main dish is pancakes. However, with pancakes from very sweet to rather savoury, it generates many occasions for returning. The pancakes are made on the base of gluten-free ingredients; vegetarian alternatives are plentiful. This is one of the more favourite restaurants in Groningen and especially during the weekends it may be difficult to get a table.
A place to eat up a good piece of meat is Pappa Joe located in the Folkingestraat 46. It may come across as a rather expensive restaurant, but it really is worth the money. With meat from the local farms you can expect to find good food in a good atmosphere. For reservations, please call +31 – (0)50 - 3114840.
For just any kind of pizza and pasta, check out Napoli Ristorante Groningen Napoli Ristorante Groningen, located at Astraat 9. Dishes at a very reasonable price (pizza and pasta from 5€!) and just 2 minutes from the Vismarkt. For reservations and/or placing an order, call +31 – (0)50 – 3144991.

Where can I find the better restaurants (to take my parents)
Looking for a place to dinner with your parents or loved ones? Then we suggest Fujiyama. Located at the Grote Markt 21b (right at the corner between the ABN Bank and the Oude Ebbingestraat), this restaurant offers a wide variety of sushi, sashimi and other, typical Japanese dishes. While the prices for the menus are rather high, this restaurant is more suitable for a special dinner out with family or the loved one.
An exclusive, but highly recommended restaurant is De zevende hemel. This restaurant in the Zuiderkerkstraat 7(translated called “the seventh heaven) offers high-class French and Italian cuisine in a warm and pleasant atmosphere. Biologic meat and fish, next to vegetarian and vegan dishes offer something for everyone. Since it only has a few tables, reservations (can be done online or via the phone: +31 – (0)50 - 3145141) are recommended.
Fancy Indian food? Than you might like to try De kleine Moghul. Located in the Nieuwe Boteringestraat 62, this restaurant offers the best Indian food in Groningen, both suitable for meat eater and vegetarians.
