Naming a CD and the corresponding single “Schiffsverkehr”, which means ship traffic in English, is strange. To name the tour as well “Schiffsverkehr”, however, when it is so maritime as the last one from the most famous German rock singer Herbert Grönemeyer. How maritime the “Schiffsverkehr Tour 2011” was, can be seen of the same name DVD, which was released last Friday. The film starts with a view of the stage. In Groningen on the 29th of September on a sun kissed Vismarkt (fish market), the first live dub ever, took place. Musicians from all over Groningen and the rest of Holland gathered at the market. Led by Reinout Douwma, the musicians, artists and singers prepared to perform ‘fire’ by the pointer sisters. (Originally sung by Bruce Springsteen) This event is the first live Lip dub ever.
